I did a series of black-and-white, Photoshopped images for my recent involuntary run of filler strips. Most were simple things, but this particular one I felt deserved a color, no-text version.
You can see the strip -- and the text to go with it -- here. The short version? This guy is not nearly as human as he appears... and the tree isn't anything like scenery.
The "here" link doesn't work, but I've seen the strip you mentioned. That's quite a cool concept for an alien race.
I have something similar in one of my own stories (a humanoid plant race that's motile in an early stage of life), but without the parasitic aspect. I hope we get to see/find out more about these guys in SG.
Oooh, I forgot to ever respond to this, because I read it and thought, "Nah, they probably wouldn't show up directly," and then I thought, "But what if....?" and then my brain went visiting elsewhere for a while and I forgot what I was supposed to be doing. This happens a lot.
Anyhow, the answer to whether they'll show up in the comic is now "maybe", and I'm glad you liked them.
(The tree does not have teeth. The model I used for the tree may have teeth. Er. Try to pretend you didn't see that.)

...I say. Does that tree have teeth?

Right you are, then! "Maybe" works for me.
